To be Deleted - Old News

This web page once announced Francis Beckwith's reversion to Catholicism. It is now old news. Thus, this post will be deleted in due course.

Doesn't the "whosoever will" of the Bible mean that God will have mercy, when we repent, not that "perhaps" He will (noting your exhortation to Beckwith)?

Dear Anonymous,

I'm following in the evangelistic style of the Apostle Peter:

Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

I'll take up the "whosoever will" passages in due course in a separate post.

Resistance is Futile. You will be assimilated.

Joel 2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him?

and Jonah 3:9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Thanks Tim H.,

Yes, Peter's message of humble repentance was not something he or any of the other apostles ginned up. It is the consistent message of Scripture.

Tiber Jumper,

Unsurprisingly, that is Islam's claim as well. Since Vatican II, it has become clear that both Catholicism and Islam worship the same god.

After all, that innovative council wrote: "The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God ... who has spoken to men."

As I pointed out to Tim Lang in an earlier post, if you are worshipping the god of the Muslims, with the bishops of Vatican II, you are not worship the Triune God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God whose name is Jealous.
