Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
America's president Obama has declared June to be a month in celebration of sexual sin. While Obama ought to be respected in accordance with the high office he holds, we cannot full join in the spirit of his celebration. Nevertheless, to give some honor to the king (as Scripture commands) even while fearing God (which is our greater duty), this blog will beginning tomorrow and continuing through the end of the month commemorate sexual sin with resort to Scriptural commentary on such. Not every passage will relate directly to the sorts of sexual perversions and wickedness that the president wishes to honor, but instead all manner of sexual sin will be addressed.
We cannot, of course, call these things good or celebrate them in any positive way, for to do so would be to violate the Word of God at the mouth of the prophet Isaiah, whose word will serve as a preface to each of these posts, as it was for this post.

Be of good cheer! It seems Jesus knew President Obama was going down this road "already". "Already" has become a marvelous word for sinners such as we! I am already dead in trespasses and sins. He has already come to this world, devils filled and already suffered our injustice and was already punished severely and already put to death and He has already risen from the dead because He is the Resurrection and the Life, a claim He made already, that is, before dying for the sins of His called, Chosen Elect, who were already known before the world began!
In any event, even the Month of June, here's how the Lord laid it out for all who want to receive His Life from sin and their death, "already":
Mat 23:1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,
Mat 23:2 "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat,
Mat 23:3 so practice and observe whatever they tell you--but not what they do. For they preach, but do not practice.
Mat 23:4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.
Mat 23:5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,
Mat 23:6 and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues
Mat 23:7 and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.
Mat 23:8 But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.
Mat 23:9 And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
Mat 23:10 Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ.
Mat 23:11 The greatest among you shall be your servant.
Mat 23:12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Now, what is remarkable with these "Eternal" words of Jesus is the fact that in ourselves they are impossible to do or to keep once done! Grrrrrr
Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, My God and My Redeemer!
Now what I wonder is how many people will actually embrace this sort of celebration seeing it is that sin that does more harm to one's soul, than the rest, according to Paul?
1Co 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
1Co 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
1Co 6:20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Let the Church Christ dwells in insulate, isolate and sanctify Themselves from such impurities and from such Presidential celebrations not only in June but July, August, September and all the way around back to June!
p.s., amazing as it is, I just now as I am typing these comments received a mass email sent from Ciaro Eygpt asking me to listen to President Obama's speech. I happened to be awakened by the Spirit of God and watched it live. But in respect for the Presidency, I will watch it again!

ReplyDeleteThese comments are off the beat and path of the article in one sense but in another sense they can be construed as a basis for the same purpose of the article.
I just finished listening to President Obama's speech given earlier in the Egyptian day, which was early morning out here in California.
What you wrote: "....we cannot fully join in the spirit of his celebration. ..." is most telling when considered in the "Light" of these Words of Jesus already in celebration by all True Believers of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, noting the Angel of the Lord's words to Hagar already spoken about her son's place in this natural world.
The Words of Jesus then:
Mat 10:34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Mat 10:36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.
Mat 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What distinguishes Jesus, the Prophet, from Barack the President, is Jesus' abilities to "follow" to the death, because of the Faith He speaks about, all the while the President, when he speaks about "being" a Christian, one pauses and believes a betrayal occurs simply by his call for peace. His peace is not His Peace at all and there will never come a time when the two can be one. It is like trying to break down the barrier between water and oil to become one united singular substance from the two.
It is impossible. The only option and possibility for the one is the Other. He has been, already. He is. He will be and will become the only Peace at the end. All false peace will be swallowed up by Peace just like the serpents in Egypt during the days of Moses and Aaron when Aaron's staff swallowed up the magicians staffs. Again, we have the same old saw of "unity" and "peace" is possible in our lifetime and generation.
It does not bode well for anyone who will rise up and preach Peace at the cost of dying for what one believes.
The sad thing is, the extreme Muslim has what Christ had already, a willingness to die for His Faith, that Faith once delivered to the Saints, the True Children of God.
Make no mistake about it, those, the drum beats pounding the drums of peace, will have their day of power and the end result will still be the Words of Jesus:
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
Mat 24:12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.
Mat 24:13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
