Comment Guidelines:
1. Thanks for posting a comment. Without you, this blog would not be interactive.
2. Please be polite. That doesn't mean you have to use kid gloves, but please try not to flame others, even if they are heretics, infidels, or worse.
3. If you insult me, I'm more likely to delete your comment than if you butter me up. After all, I'm human. I prefer praise to insults. If you prefer insults, there's something wrong with you.
4. Please be concise. The comment box is not your blog. Your blog is your blog. If you have a really long comment, post it on your blog and post a short summary of it here.
5. Please don't just spam. It's one thing to be concise, it's another thing to simply use the comment box to advertise.
6. Please note, by commenting here, you are relinquishing your (C) in your comments to me.
7. Remember that you will give an account on judgment day for your words, including those typed in comment boxes. Try to write so you will not be ashamed if it is read back before the entire world.
8. Stay on topic. If your comment has nothing to do with the post, email it to me (my email can be obtained through my blogger profile), or simply don't post it.
9. Don't post as "Anonymous." If you are going to post anonymously, at least use some kind of recognizable "handle," so we can tell you apart from all the other anonymous folks. (This is moot at the moment, since recent abuse has forced me to turn off "anonymous" commenting.)
10. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you; and abstain from doing to others what you would not wish upon yourself.
I remember clearly the very first time I read and understood what I was reading, Exodus.
ReplyDeleteI put the book down troubled in my soul with God.
Why? Because I was not suited to believe God would act the way we read He acts there in Exodus.
I was thinking of these verses as I listened to both videos above:
Psa 119:38 Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared.
Psa 119:39 Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good.
Psa 119:40 Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!
Psa 119:41 Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;
Psa 119:42 then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
What seems to be the deception centers around my own "worth" and "righteousness" being treated the way the Holy Ghost treats it, as He does every soul of man. We are treated by God as worthless and unrighteous.
How can My Creator, being Holy and Righteous, treat me so? He does nothing with partiality! I cannot say that about myself. I am continually judging everything basis the Bible or my own inner beliefs!
It's clear to me now that I too was deceived by my own goodness notwithstanding all the failure I was ignoring and blinding myself too by my own goodness.
What is it that moves me to justify myself before a sinless God?
It certainly is not God or the Elect Angels or reformed men full of the Holy Ghost.
It is not easy to settle one's mind with Psalm 58 either. "How can God permit such wickedness to abuse the sinner?"
The only solution that brings about Peace to a troubled soul is the doctrine of predestination and election and calling.
When you want too, you can read the Bible and see God at Work in the Body! You can clearly see the Gospel before the Law of Righteousness was administered and then given through Moses.
You can see the differences between God's commitment to confirm His Own Word according to predestination and election when you contrast the covenant of works given to Adam, to Noah, the republication to Moses with the Covenant to Abram and David.
What's the difference?
One puts over on my shoulders a "works" righteousness in order to cross the finish line, so to speak. While that is not the case with the Promises God made with Abram and David. Cf. Genesis 12 and 2 Samuel 7. God simply tells Abram and David what He is going to do for them. He is asking them to do nothing to fulfill those promises!
It becomes a grave error to scorn a person who has found His Faith at work in them. God says some terrible things about a person being scorned for living by His Faith and not their own:::>
Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Psa 50:16 But to the wicked God says: "What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?
Psa 50:17 For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.
Psa 50:18 If you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you keep company with adulterers.
Psa 50:19 "You give your mouth free rein for evil, and your tongue frames deceit.
Psa 50:20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
Psa 50:21 These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.
Psa 50:22 "Mark this, then, you who forget God, lest I tear you apart, and there be none to deliver!
Psa 50:23 The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!"
Funny to hear folks ~singing~ for God to break out someone's teeth.
ReplyDeleteVery nice response. And who are the folks singing anyway?
ReplyDeleteThe singing is Michael Owen (see the credits at the end of part 2).
