A Word of Thanks

This post is simply a quick word of thanks to those who read this blog. I am very thankful that you stop by and read what I post. I am also thankful when you post comments, even comments that challenge what I wrote. If you'd like to see certain topics discussed, remember that you can easily obtain my e-mail address through my blogger profile. Thanks again for reading this blog. May God use it to your edification (if you are a believer) and to your conversion (if you are not).

Only to the Glory of God,

  1. How about you open the comments section and let this be more of a dialogue?

  2. Nah. It's open enough, as it is. There's even an open forum for those who want that, and very few people have taken advantage of that option.

  3. As long as this isn't a "Thank you for being my readers" farewell post....

  4. No ... not a farewell post. In fact, I presently have over 250 draft blog posts in various stages of completion.

  5. Thats what I'm talking about!!! And as far request, how about revealing your secret identity? :|

  7. 250!

    Yumpin' Yimminy!

It's all I can do to put up something every few days or so, and most of the time it's not particularly controversial. I've had to resort to reproducing combox comments lately, since that's where I end up doing most of my thinking and writing.

So I thank you in return, TF, for such an interesting and challenging blog. It's a good source of rabbit-trail material for my own blog! ;-)

  8. It's about as open as political discourse in Chairman Mao's China. What benefit is there in commenting on another blog when the comment pertains to a post on this blog?

  9. What benefit (you might just as well ask) is there in commenting in the comment box when you'd like to deface the blog entry itself! (I'm thankful that blog comments don't operate like Google Wave - at least not yet.) It is what it is, Alex. Some folks use the comment box to insult, inflame, etc. Some provide challenging and interesting thoughts. Some post tangentially related items, and a few spam.

  10. I am glad to have a place to go and be challenged and challenge.

    You are welcome!

  11. I'm very thankful for your blog, TF. I frequent only 3 blogs...yours, Triablogue, and the Bayly Blog.

  12. Thanks! I'm flattered to be on that list.

  13. TF,

I don't comment often, but I read frequently. I appreciate your thoroughness and usual charity. Keep up the good work.

  14. thanks Turr8in,

I meant to thank you for your last post on David's son. Such clarity is always necessary. I remember being once hammered as "heartless" for also pointing out that the text hardly supports the weight put upon it by many.

popped into #pros to say as much to you but you had absconded so will do so here!

    blessings!

  15. No, thank *you* TF for the thoughtful essays. I always find this blog to be a good read and thoughtfully argued. Some of the patristics material is especially fascinating for those of us not particularly versed in the area. Thanks!

  16. Thank you TF. I benefit so much from your blob. Wish it were in Bahasa Indonesia. We need resources in Indonesia. We are attacked from every side here in terms of faith.

    God bless you richly.

  17. Ooops.. I am sorry! I should have written "I benefit so much from your blog" not "I benefit so much from your blob"

Comment Guidelines:

1. Thanks for posting a comment. Without you, this blog would not be interactive.

2. Please be polite. That doesn't mean you have to use kid gloves, but please try not to flame others, even if they are heretics, infidels, or worse.

3. If you insult me, I'm more likely to delete your comment than if you butter me up. After all, I'm human. I prefer praise to insults. If you prefer insults, there's something wrong with you.

4. Please be concise. The comment box is not your blog. Your blog is your blog. If you have a really long comment, post it on your blog and post a short summary of it here.

5. Please don't just spam. It's one thing to be concise, it's another thing to simply use the comment box to advertise.

6. Please note, by commenting here, you are relinquishing your (C) in your comments to me.

7. Remember that you will give an account on judgment day for your words, including those typed in comment boxes. Try to write so you will not be ashamed if it is read back before the entire world.

8. Stay on topic. If your comment has nothing to do with the post, email it to me (my email can be obtained through my blogger profile), or simply don't post it.

9. Don't post as "Anonymous." If you are going to post anonymously, at least use some kind of recognizable "handle," so we can tell you apart from all the other anonymous folks. (This is moot at the moment, since recent abuse has forced me to turn off "anonymous" commenting.)

10. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you; and abstain from doing to others what you would not wish upon yourself.
