One Year Until the End of the World

The subject of this post is the message I found in my inbox earlier today. The message reminded me that Harold Camping has, based on complex series of calculations, predicted judgment day to be May 21, 2011. I have already attempted to show a number of problems in Mr. Camping's theology, and rather than rehash those problems, I'll just provide links to the relevant posts below:

1) "Lucifer" and Angels' Names

b) How Then Four Hundred, Thirty Years?
c) From Seventy to More then a Million?
d) 430 Years from the Promise - A Response to Fred Butler

6) Surprising Wisdom from Harold Camping

I have no idea how many of Harold Camping's listeners on the Family Radio network read this blog, or whether they will hear and listen to me before May 22, 2010.

  1. You know TF, there is something that always amazes me when getting into this topic. No one ever brings up all the people that the end of the world and judgment has come to, even while I am writing this post! I die daily, Paul wrote.

    What about them?

What about the average 50,000 people who will die by a car accident this year before January 1 of 2011 who certainly will face judgment as their world comes abruptly to an end? Or the multitude of people who die of sickness or disease from around the world this week or month or before the end of the year?

This subject is a ploy of wolves, in my opinion, to get trapped even more the unsuspecting and unstable who are caught in the trap of the fear of dying or of death itself!

My mentoring Pastor always reminded us that for a Truly Born Again Elect Saint of God, today is as good a day to die as it is to serve Him! And for every one of God's Saints who die, we do not die alone. :)

Heb 11:35 Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.
Heb 11:36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.
Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated--
Heb 11:38 of whom the world was not worthy--wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
Heb 11:39 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised,
Heb 11:40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

  2. TurretinFan,

Doesn't Camping speak about the rapture taking place sometime before the 2011 date? I don't remember where that is, but I think I recall him stating some such. Do you remember any of that?

    Blessings,

    PA

  3. Unless he's recently changed his position, he holds that the rapture will take place on judgment day.

  5. LOL Mr. Butler! Do I still owe you a response on the 430 year issue?

  7. I want to say that how come he is the only one that in his words "God" showed him when the rapture will take place. How come people like Jack Van Impe, John Hagee, Jesse Duplantis, Kenneth Copeland, or any other modern day preacher including my dad that was a preacher for over 38 years and preached the bible for what it says, not some time table that man come up with. The Bible says clearly, NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY, NOT THE SON, NOR THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN, so if that be the case is he GOD's Twin Brother?

2. Please be polite. That doesn't mean you have to use kid gloves, but please try not to flame others, even if they are heretics, infidels, or worse.

3. If you insult me, I'm more likely to delete your comment than if you butter me up. After all, I'm human. I prefer praise to insults. If you prefer insults, there's something wrong with you.

4. Please be concise. The comment box is not your blog. Your blog is your blog. If you have a really long comment, post it on your blog and post a short summary of it here.

5. Please don't just spam. It's one thing to be concise, it's another thing to simply use the comment box to advertise.

6. Please note, by commenting here, you are relinquishing your (C) in your comments to me.

7. Remember that you will give an account on judgment day for your words, including those typed in comment boxes. Try to write so you will not be ashamed if it is read back before the entire world.

8. Stay on topic. If your comment has nothing to do with the post, email it to me (my email can be obtained through my blogger profile), or simply don't post it.

9. Don't post as "Anonymous." If you are going to post anonymously, at least use some kind of recognizable "handle," so we can tell you apart from all the other anonymous folks. (This is moot at the moment, since recent abuse has forced me to turn off "anonymous" commenting.)
