Mark Driscoll and Liberty University

Apparently Mark Driscoll is a commencement speaker for Liberty University (see the discussion here).  Some people are making a big deal about this.  Where were those same people when Liberty University had Mormon Glenn Beck speak at commencement two years ago (link to video and discussion)? Complaining about Driscoll and not Beck is truly straining at gnats and swallowing camels, whatever Driscoll's ministerial or theological shortcomings may be - even if they are numerous (which I doubt).

  2. I remember there being some people upset over Glenn Beck speaking at Liberty University, whether these are the same people that are upset about Driscoll, I don't know.

But wouldn't it be funny if Beck got a pass for being in political harmony with LU while Driscoll won't get a pass because of his... what? Style, theology, both? Anyway, that's just speculation since I don't know anything about this.

  4. He's too close to being a Calvinist for some folks.

  5. It is just another sign the world is going to hell! Wait!! It is living hell right now!

I wonder if God will us Driscoll like Ahithophel at LU?

  6. MarkDriscoll is the Calvinist Mark Shea! We should put both of them in a boxing ring, with the hope they will kill each other off. It would be a great benefit for both the Calvinist and Catholic Churches, since neither of them would be around to embarass us anymore!

  7. This isn't saying much, but better Driscoll than Ergun Caner.
