Vatican Politics - Not Quite the 15th and 16th Centuries But ...

There have been some interesting happenings at the Vatican (link to article). The Vatican was busy last week denying what the leaked communication implied (and who knows where the truth lies), but it will be interesting to see how this pans out in terms of who is the next pope. The article suggests that Tarcisio Bertone may be the one we should expect to succeed Benedict XVI. It would be an interesting change of pace, in terms of different personalities. One imagines he would be more willing than Benedict XVI to define the dogma of the co-redemptrix.

  1. Of the all possible descriptions one could give the Roman Catholic College of Cardinals:

"the exclusive men's club that will one day pick the next Roman Catholic leader from among their own ranks."

But that would remove the mystery!

  3. This thread underscores the need to let the Holy Spirit bring to "life" the sense of living by Faith and not by a man made religion and their religious institution (sight). On the other hand, this news about what is going on internally within the Vatican underscores that the RCC is not representative of the Living God's True House on earth "or" in Heaven; presumably all RCC members believe every pope before this one is there in Heaven right now taking their appointed place with all the Apostles of Christ?

Psa 46:4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.
Psa 46:5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
Psa 46:6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.
Psa 46:7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Can you imagine this sort of prayer being prayed by their faithful because this sort of thing is going on in the house of their Lord, that Kingdom we are inspired to pray for daily and most likely is made a part of their religious Mass on some level? "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in, ah, no, wait a minute, there is some infighting going on among the Lord's Apostles in Heaven right now so we should just be patient and wait for the Lord to quell it and then restore the order, the peace and then things will be ripe again for us to finish the prayer Jesus left us to pray so as to have Kingdom's rule reigning on earth!...". :)

Hmmmmmm, seems to me there is something to be said here! Oh, yes, you did say it again here with this news!!

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?

This must be why God is actively making disciples of Christ today being interested in killing and making alive, is it not?

Col 2:11 In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
Col 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
Col 2:14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
Col 2:15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

The Lord has impressed upon my soul lately that He is, even still in this very generation, destroying every rule, authority and power not His Own at work in the world; and this impression is exciting to me because this promise is a sure promise to those who persevere in Christ:

Rom 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

And by the way, that word "soon" in that verse, has about as much meaning as the word "soon", here:

Rev 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done.
Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

  4. At least they didn't call it a "gentlemen's club."
