Rawlsian 2K?

In a recent post, my friend Paul provides an interesting comparison between Rawls and the Neo-2K (sometimes referred to as "radical" 2k) crowd.  My friend Paul has also defended his comparison against a charge that it misrepresents the Neo-2k position.

Rawlsianism is a hop skip and jump away from total censorship. Oh how the water boils ever so slowly so that the frog does not know his pending fate!

Steven D Smith, law professor, "....He persuasively argues that secularism and Rawlsian abandonment of reason for ‘public reason’ is to blame for our debased discourse; and this is for a variety of reasons, one of which is that the above demands a “smuggling in” of ostensibly “hands-off” presuppositions, beliefs, and arguments. ...."

What shocks me most these days is just how open to the Light of the Gospel people are in the public places where there is opportunity for its' discourse. Why, I saw it clearly on Good Friday last. I came into my bank and saw some "Christian" brethren standing around waiting to see a bank clerk and one at a teller's booth. I got up next to the teller who was going to assist me in some banking business and asked quite loudly, do you know what day it is? No said the teller. Good Friday I replied nice and loud so others far away could hear. I wasn't ashamed to be so loud as I glanced around the room to see a lot of faces looking at me. I then began to tell this teller about Good Friday and why it was the most important event in human history leading to the Holy Spirit's vindication of the Christ! She stood there shocked, not that I was so bold or loud but rather that she had never heard that before or what True Biblical Christianity was about. She had wondered about it already! I could feel the heat coming my way and glanced over to a long time Christian friend standing a couple two or three booths down from me beaming with a smile from coast to coast!

We do have to shake off the fears of the unknown including the fear and experience of death. After all we have had laid down for us so boldly anointed Words like these:

Act 26:13 At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me.
Act 26:14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
Act 26:15 And I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
Act 26:16 But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,
Act 26:17 delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles--to whom I am sending you
Act 26:18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'
Act 26:19 "Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,
Act 26:20 but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.
Act 26:21 For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.

Ok, so what if they want to kill you? What do you leave behind when you leave this place for the Eternal Glory in Christ every single one of us that have been elected and called too go to?

Eye has not seen nor ear heard nor has it enter into the heart of them what has been prepared for us by Our Heavenly Father! It's an experience you have to live to know! :)

Thanks TFan for alerting me to Paul's latest post defending himself against the charge of misrepresentation.

R2K is poison. And the faithful need to warn others not to drink it.

I will share with you another way for your message to get out throughout the public arena. You have to have very thick skin and be ready for verbal abuse, though?

A friend of mine convinced me to go out into the public night and day dragging a large wooden cross. We had a hard and fast rule that we would not speak to anyone who did not speak to us first asking us what we were doing?

Man alive did we have some wonderful discourses with people night and day on the streets of various towns and cities! I did this over in Japan also and Europe and Africa. I tell you what. It was a joy to have the Holy Spirit's presence all over me and coming out of my mouth when I began declaring the good news of Who hung on a similar wooden cross and put to death by the hands of ungodly godless people!

One day as we were walking the streets of Japan near the Disney World Apcot Center we came down a street to a large intersection where there were a number of open markets on two of the four streets. These were open air food markets where the Japanese farmers could bring their produce to sell. That day a great anointing of the Lord fell on me and my God, my voice was so magnified it boomed down these streets where these Japanese people stood . They were spell bound as I proclaimed the Gospel of the Kingdom through my interpreter! Most church sizes in Japan are about 5 to 10 people. During this time of evangelism we saw about 50 souls join our fellowship in one week!

The Gospel is to be proclaimed to people on the street, in the class room, in the church gathering, at the mall, in the doctor's office and in the bank and shoe store not hidden away in our hearts so only we know and God knows!!!

Rom 15:14 I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.
Rom 15:15 But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God
Rom 15:16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Just start talking to people, one on one or in a group!
