Focusing on the Wrong Problem

Many people will see this clip (link) and think that the problem is man put asunder what God has joined, i.e. an unbiblical divorce - or even that the problem is that this (apparently improper) action is being done by high-profile professing Christians, thereby bringing Christ's name into shame.

Those can both be problems, but they miss the bigger - more obvious problem. What was a woman doing being the pastor of a church in the first place? That's not a woman's job - that's not what God calls women to do.

The shocking part of the headline should be the part that suggested that "pastors" were married to each other, not that they are getting a divorce. To complain about their divorce, while ignoring the usurpation of authority by Mrs. White is to strain at a gnat while swallowing a camel.

Incidentally, as far as know, neither of the Whites is any relation to Dr. James White, who has been mentioned on this blog a few times.
