Living in Sin is not a New Thing
It is, however, remarkable that a fairly new Britney Spears track (that one hears constantly on the radio if one has not glued one's radio dial to the classical music frequency) about a particular sexual perversion contains the line: "Livin' in sin is the new thing" as well as the claim that "What we do is innocent Just for fun and nothin' meant." It's really not. Sexual union is only appropriate within marriage. Living in sin is nothing new, but it's also nothing good. Far from being innocent, it produces guilt in the participants: not subjective guilt in the form of feelings of guilt (though it may), but objective guilt in the form of being under the wrath and curse of God. At least, however, Ms. Spears recognizes that what she is promoting is sin. Perhaps others will also note that and repent.

TurritanFan listening to Britney Spears? Has the world gone mad?! lol
Seriously though, I once had a girlfriend who believed sexual urges should be satisfied as if one is scratching itch. I thought she had changed, but apparently she didn't: the relationship ended b/c she couldn't control herself with another man =\
(It shouldn't have even started b/c she wasn't a Christian, however I was pretty stupid then, and as Forrest Gump once said, 'Stupid is as stupid does.' :-| )
Trying to convince her (now) of the personal and eternal horror her attitude of sex brings is frustratingly difficult. Without believing in any sort of objective moral framework, she cannot see how so-called sexual 'freedom' is bad (besides the occasional heartache she brings upon herself and others).
The content of these popular songs, TV shows, and movies that support so-called sexual 'freedom' and downplay (and sometimes demonize) marriage, is teaching a generation of children that radical individualism is good! It's heart-breakingly sad and infuriating to see so many people not only destroying their lives, but encouraging others to do the same.
Say, that kinda reminds me of a verse from Romans.....
As to the title, "absolutely"! Sin was around way before there was ever a heavens and earth!
Gen 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
