Sodom and Archaeology

I found the following video on archaeology performed in the Dead Sea Valley to be fascinating. Until more certain proof is presented, I would be hesitant to draw overly strong conclusions, but the view that the city of Sodom, as well as the other valley cities, have been located is reasonably persuasive.

UPDATE: Take the video with a grain of salt, in view of the criticism found at the following link (link). Thanks to Daniel's Place for noting this issue.

Well, if that doesn't put the Fear of God in you, you most likely are dead although you seem very much alive!

Good news for the dead in themself:::>

Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved--
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

also interesting is that they have found salt pillars in the hills surrounding the region. These are natural formations (at least all but one is...), but they also give support to the location of the doomed cities.

So then, why don't all believe?

One would think that this being such a unique thing, that there is no natural explanation, for it would be the last nail driven.

I missed it if it was there, but is there speculation that this was the result of one of the dreaded meteorites that are to blame for everything from the disappearance of Bay Watch to the reason that Obamas birth certificate cannot be found?

Thank you. You just saved me a trip to Israel! (Not that I'd dare go there right now anyway!!)
